Is the casual game market still worthy?

Is the casual game market still worthy?

Is the casual game market still worthy?

Worthy? Worthy of what? Acclaim? Respect? Gamer Titles? Worth spending time developing?

Acclaim: Maybe? I have played some amazing casual games and I look at the games that have won awards.

Respect: Some games are amazing, some are crappy and some are just so-so. Wait . . . that is the same as other game markets! So I am going to go with: Yes. Especially as it takes work to create even the simplest game.

Gamer Titles: Again, I am going to go with Yes. If you are someone that plays games and identifies as a gamer, then *boom* you are a gamer! We can split some hairs on what type of gamer you are but it doesn’t change the fact that you are a gamer.

Worth Spending Time Creating: Yes, if you want to make a casual game. If you want to create the next Skyrim, then creating a casual game doesn’t seem like the best use of your time. However, if you want to create a casual game, yes it can be worth it. There is money to be made and people play casual games so it does seem worth it.
